Why? You've then turned a utlitarian swimming costume into some sort of fetish object. I say this as as one who has worn Speedo brand cozzies since I was a nipper who believes the former may be acceptable in public, the latter are best kept in private situations.

I've been wearing 'em as long as I can remember; possibly age five or six? I was raised overseas and that is the only swimming costume most everyone wore at the time. I swam for school from elementary through uni; they've always been my swimming togs and not some kind of fetish as some make them out...

Unless you're on the beach or competing in a triathlon why would you wear a swimming costume to run? I mean seriously, it is a swim suit.

I think you may be on to part of the issue with the Puritan foundation of the USA, or perhaps in part whiplash to the 'whatever' attitude of the 60s. I wear a Speedo for swim and sun because it has always been the appropriate costume for me to wear for such activity as a team swimmer and diver since I was a little nipper. A word to the wise: if you've a hairy bum (and I don't mean just the crack) do not wear a thong. Please. A thong will only emphasize (and not necessarily in a good way) your furriness. Head to a nude beach instead.
