I bought one of the black with grey detail Nikes (minus the GCU lettering). I think it's called the Victory. Fits really well. Anatomical with fairly narrow sides for a team suit. Chlorine resistant poly that's not too scratchy. And never stick out your tongue at the camera for a team picture.

Wow.... Where are these lean people? Not where I live.

It's not that I've been able to convert friends into wearing speedos (though a few have manned up for an event or two), but I've come to enjoy simply being comfortable in mine in certain company (right time/place). Though I'll admit I wish I had more friends with greater confidence - or less give-a-fukcery.

I live north of you in PBC. It's hopeless. I saw more speedos when I moved here twenty years ago. I vacationed in FtL in the nineties when I lived in the northeast. I rented a Hobie cat on the beach. The guys that had the rental business all wore speedos. Wouldn't see that today. I remember there was a store that just sold speedos in a shopping center near the 17th St bridge.

I sometimes think stuff like that. The people with the really cool bodies are probably involved in athletics - the girls and guys in some of these pics are obviously members of swimming teams.

Good point. We have a number of colleges and universities down here with outdoor pools and swim teams. As you say, if I had access to these pools, I'd see some of the super-fit we see here. But I don't. They don't hang out at my local beach, which is board short central--sometimes with underwear showing..... And the women taking the sun are not into athletics. We have a true Olympic pool (50 meters) at the beach, but it's shut down because it's sinking at one end. They want to replace it with a splash pool for kids. And they probably will.

I agree that you don’t see groups of fit people where I’m at either. Maybe one here and there.

However you don’t have to be on the outside looking in as far as fitness is concerned. Anyone can be a part of that crowd if the choose to be and work at it. I’ve never reached my fitness goals but the effort to do so has kept me from getting too far out of shape. I figure that life is too short to not be the person you want to be. You can always change yourself but you don’t get do overs.
