Comfortability in speedos

Post by bluespeedo » Fri Feb 07, 2014 2:47 pm

Hey everyone,

I'm new to the forum and want to know if any of you guys still like and are comfortable wearing speedos even though you weigh maybe five or ten pounds too much. Opinions, comments, stories? I might post pictures but not sure yet. I got a new blue speedo that is nice but a little tight, and I have a bit of a bubble butt and tummy.

Hey Blue--Thats pretty normal, especially for myself. I usually weight about 10-15lbs more during winter, and lose it in tine for spring/summer. Nothing to be ashamed of, just be yourself!

Yup ... carrying my "winter weight' also. That extra 10 pounds doesn't stop me from wearing mine, but definitely motivates me to work out a little harder.

I'm not really carrying anything extra and wearing speedos doesnt worry me at all. I dont think much about it when I look at people who are wearing them and are a few kgs over either - I think you'll find people are thinking a lot less about you wearing speedos that what you might think.

Thanks for the support guys. I've been feeling more confident wearing speedos lately, despite some extra jiggle, and it's nice to hear that I'm not the only one sporting that winter weight right now. I might post pics if people can stand some love handles and the like.

blue, you will find all kinds on here, the fit, the not so fit, and those just happy with what they got. And if you want, there's some great fitness and swimming advice from the fellow members, and may want to join in fellow members progress, such as the inspiration GRSwimmer is spreading with his training.

You won't receive any negative comments with the guys and gals on here on your looks; we are a supportive bunch, we're here to spread the speedo, not hold it back.
Let's keep it brief.

Honestly, if you are happy, we are all happy. That's what it's all about.

Recommendations? Maybe a narrower side panel ... just my personal preference. And then you may possibly have to go up a size to avoid the 'pinching' (yes, I have that too!). It may feel a little looser, ride a little lower, but the suit will lay flatter and with your body, you will definitely rock it out ... front and back! I can already tell that from your pictures. Go to E-Bay and score some cheap suits. Try different styles and colors. Just have fun with it!!! ;) (and take pictures!)

I think you have an unjust opinion of yourself also, you look fine!

I'd also go up a size.

I might try a pair of red 1" solar briefs next. Thanks for the suggestion, Fletch, and thanks everyone else for being supportive. And yeah I should go up a size or two.

And I haven't gotten to the pool yet in these, boywear. I have a pretty good collection, maybe ten or fifteen between briefs and jammers which I wear for lap swimming but not recreationally yet.

Personally I think chubbier guys look amazing in speedos, so if you're just a little bit over don't sweat it! Lots of people appreciate body types of all kinds, and even if they didn't, who cares? Rock your speedos! :)

Agree with the others - you could get away with a briefer cut suit. You've got a cute backside so you may as well show it off!

And you definitely need to grab a red 1" solar. Any red speedo drives me wild!

Thanks for all the input. Another question to go off that: should I lose weight, stay the same, gain weight (why not)?
