Period. The issue they had is the erection and not Speedos.... and I don't think it is a double standard - no offense but erections are sexual. I'm a big fan of swimming & water polo and I follow a lot of pages / teams / brands where men wearing swim briefs pop up in my feed. It's definitely not you simply wearing speedos. I should add, Facebook has a very clear policy against 'alias' accounts too and while they half-heartily enforced it years ago, they have a team of employees who actively review accounts because of trolling, cyber-bulling, and fake news. In fact, they were entitled to cut off you account for it just being an 'alias'.

While there are other sites better suited (no pun intended) for what you want to do, you will always run amok when using an alias accounts on a social media site. Twitter might seem like a place that could work for you now, they're starting to shut down fake and aliases accounts too. It's a core issue with the company right now and investors are pressuring Twitter to clean up their act. If I had to recommend a site, I would consider imgur or start a blog. You can also use Reddit. Those business models are very different from Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr ....
Your response is what I would expect from a married straight guy with kids. My other account was for me to focus on another aspect of my life - my love of speedos.

Here's another photo they used as a basis for disabling my account. Seriously, what's wrong with that profile picture?

I think you missed the point.... This has nothing to do with my sexual orientation or that I chose to have kids. What I was trying to point out is that Facebook has a very clear AUP (Acceptable Use Policy). They state it right up front that they reserve the right to delete any account that they deem violates their AUP. You agreed to their terms when you "clicked" the final button to create / signed up for the account. They also have a very clear policy against "alias" accounts. From their point of view, it is not debatable. To use a different site as an example, eBay has a very clear AUP where you cannot sell certain items. If they discover you are violating their AUP, they will delete the auction and suspend your account. It is really not up for debate between them and you.

You bring another point to mind when you mentioned your profile photo... Facebook also has a 'copyrighted material' policy. Yep, believe it or not, if I discover my copyrighted images being used without my permission on Facebook, I can complain and they will delete it or the entire account. I have a photographer friend who uses Google's reverse image look-up to see who is using his copyrighted photos without permission and makes sites delete them or pay him for the use.

I am not trying to be mean about this but your subject line says "Facebook is Against Speedos" and I was just trying to convey the point that Facebook has a very clear policies and that there were several reasons that gave them 'cause' to deactivate your account and it was probably not because they are railing against a particular style of men's swimwear. And more importantly, you agreed to abide by their terms.
straight, married w/ kids.

I think the same. I have pictures of me wearing speedos through my FB and so do friends. FB have never seemingly cared, but they are all in a sporting or social context and none of them sport boners.

I think what Facebook did is right. Your picture was obviosly sexaul bc of the boner. Ive posted pictures of me in speedos and Ive never had an issue with Facebook. If you are looking for an outlet to share just post on the forum or create a blog like aussiespacetimetraveler. Shannon posts pics and talks about speedos and more on his blog.

.....to begin with, one can look sexy in swim briefs without being sexual. But, purposely showcasing an erection underneath swim briefs in public is overtly lewd and lascivious conduct besides the fact that swim briefs weren't meant to be used for that purpose. The same applies to the act of removing the inner liner of swim briefs. And, in my mind no doubt gives more fuel to those that will still frown upon men wearing that attire publicly for more legitimate reasons.

The white swim briefs have no inner lining. I won them when I signed up for membership of the site swimmerboyz.com.

SpeedoBoi,

I've given up on Facebook, I've had 4 accounts shut down and I was really careful not to put anything 'adult' on there. Can't believe they are anti speedo. Hopefully it changes, it wasn't long ago that Grindr didn't allow guys to wear speedos in their profile photos and it was just last night that I was talking to a Grindr guy who looks fantastic in his speedos.
