I finally received my new Aussiebum suits the other day. I got the XS, and 2 Classic 1.5 suits in orange and blue with logo on the butt. I love these suits! I have other ABs, but these feel way softer and fit better. It's odd how some AB suits feel tighter than others, but yet are the same size.

Yes I agree with you that the sizing of AB trunks can be a bit inconsistent sometimes.

I usually order a size M but the fitting can vary a lot depending on the style of the trunks. It feels a bit frustrating not knowing how the final fit will be.

Way back when Aussiebums was just getting started I e-mailed the owner about the size inconsistencies. He said he had 6 grandmothers who did the sewing, and each did things their way. Now that the business has grown so much, I have to wonder why that problem still continues. I'm sure the 6 grandmothers aren't doing all the sewing now. It wouldn't hurt to ask him why.

Having ordered so many AB's, I think I've finally figured size out for me: M if it has an elastic wasitband so it's not tight and S if it's a Loose, whether WJ or not. I'm about 32" waist.

And two years later that AB sizing still works: M for Classics (w/ elastic waistband), S if it's a loose, although I do have a couple Small WJ Classics (no longer offered) that are OK and good for tanning as they're quite snug.
