According to the avatars of our members, there are lots of fine male physiques in the club. Some are even exceptionally athletic and it isn't easy to maintain that. I've always wondered, what percentage of men have a super fit "speedo-worthy" (if you will) body? If I had to guess, it would be less than five percent. Any ideas?
Thank you.

I read an estimate that only 2% of men have "six pack" abs. I don't think anyone has ever done any sort of official survey but from my observation I'd say 2% could be close. Among certain groups it would be higher but across all ages and activity levels of adult men it couldn't be very high.
Schoolie 6packs would be a lot lot higher than 2%, especially boys but I think at Uni they all become 1 packs.

My 17 y.o. daughter and a few of her friends have seen me this summer. I don't really have any other close family, and never go to a pool with any friends. So, I am completely over worrying about who might see me in a speedo... Swim laps at the Y every week, and won't wear anything else.

Jeebus. Looking at this photo, I thought, "what's his body fat percentage?" and "how did he get such prominent serratus anterior muscles?"

You look great, BJE. Do just spend all day working out?

Thanks for the compliment.

I don't know what my body fat percent is, but that is just a number. What matters to me is how I look not my percent bodyfat number. I suppose the serratus definition comes perhaps from doing a lot of pull-ups and push-ups. I started lifting weights, running, swimming and such when I was about sixteen and have never stopped so thirty six years of working out have made me what I am today.

PS. I work out three to six days a week. Currently I'm swimming, doing calisthenics and practicing Taekwondo.

To put things int perspective there is only one other man I ever see at the club where I go swimming who wears a speedo. He wears it lap swimming. I went on vacation for a week at Park City, Utah (of 2002 winter Olympic fame). I spent several hours a day at the pool and never saw anyone else in a speedo.

I'd say that in my entire life I've not seen more than a handful of men wearing speedos other than lap swimmers and those occasions were while I was on vacation somewhere, not locally.

I'd guess that most of the people who see me in a speedo have never seen another man in a speedo in person ever.
I wrote somewhere here recently about my local pool in Aus. About 90% of people who swim laps wear speedos, even the teenagers. It does have a fairly successful swimming club there though. A lot of younger kids just there for fun also wear speedos and the speedo trunks. Because it's so normal I never really think about it too much.

Interestingly though I went to a birthday in a country town two weeks ago and wore a shirt that is very 'on trend' at the moment, similar to the one below. I was surprised to receive a lot of negative comments about it from different people there like "is that a woman's shirt?" "looks like something Elton John would wear," and "it's a bit gay for my liking." These comments were mostly from women above 40. I was really surprised by how backward their attitudes were, and how forthright they were with a nearly complete stranger. I definitely don't think Speedos would go down well in that town.

That style is very good looking. The people making comments need to get into a major city more often.

Hat, plain shirt, dirty blue jeans and boots. The uniform.

I don't know the town, but I bet they'd be checking you out and its only one step away from skinny dippin in a dam!

I know people who would be appalled by seeing me in a speedo and wouldn't hesitate to say so.
That says everything about them and nothing about you. If they call you out, point out their rudeness and let it at that.

I have to say I have never worn my speedo in front of my mate as he always say that it is just wrong now on my own or with my wife if we are anyware that no one knows me I have no problems with being naked or in speedos
Anyway a few weeks ago we were at the beach in Poole in the UK so I thought hear goes so under my shorts I had on my white speedos (see avatar ) my mate had his usual knee length swimming shorts on, we settled down on the beach so I said I was going for a swim so off came the shorts and vest and off I went a moment later my mate joined me he never said anything the thing is when we got back from swimming we both walked to a shop to get some drinks me still in my speedo all he said was your showing quite a bulge I just laughed it off it was good feeling though the moral is be confident and Wear what you want.

Wow, it amazes me a bit that people think like this.

I've always worn speedos, still wear speedos, anybody and everybody has seen me in speedos, some of my friends wear speedos, they're always called something else (eg Budgy Smugglers, Dick Stickers etc) but I've never had anything negative about them. Actually, the brand Budgy Smugglers are helping to bring them back again with manly designs for all of us extroverts! I remember having the chat with my bro = speedos at the pool, Boardies at the beach. I still do speedos at the beach.
Ditto..... LOL !!!

I went camping on the beach with one of my friends a few nights ago. Once it got dark I was tired of wearing my wet swim trunks so I said to him how I wear speedos under my shorts because they hold everything together. He said that they would be way more comfortable than than board shorts so I then decided to take off my shorts and I spent the rest of the night wearing my aussiebum port seas and a shirt (I don't like going shirtless). He never really said anything and since it was dark it didn't look really different than if I was wearing my shorts. In the morning I had to go in the water for a little bit and I took off my shirt and went it my aussiebums only. He laughed at me, but that was really it. I don't know though if I'd still wear them around him in the day time.

Went boating and stopped in a cove to swim/bathe and I took my shorts off to reveal my swim jammer. My buddy says, " is that a Speedo "? I proudly said , "yes it is"!
This year I want to wear my briefs...

I wear speedos around friends on vacations, and the only thing anyone really ever says is 'I wish I had the confidence/courage to wear a suit like that' or something to that effect. Unfortunately I haven't inspired or convinced any of them to take up speedos too (yet) but you should go for it

I ONLY ever want to see you in a speedo. If you wear it all the other times, i'd wear one. If they get disgusted so be it. just take the speedo off if they fuss and wash it on your abs...

I recently went to the beach with a couple of girl friends. One knew I wore speedos but the other one didn't. After getting settled in I asked the other one if she cared that I stripped down to just my speedo. She didn't mind at all, so the rest of the day was spent in just my speedo. So much more comfortable than board shorts!!

I love that picture you posted to this comment, speed-oh! It so perfectly illustrates how much cleaner, sleeker, and downright cooler a speedo looks than those stupid baggy, wrinkly trunks! We all know how much more free and comfortable it is to wear a speedo. The suits on the other two guys just look so heavy and bothersome. The drag in and out of the water in those things is the worst! Speedos are efficient, elegant, and awesome!

I wouldn't care if my gay friends saw me in one, but not my other friends or family. When my physique is where I want it to be then maybe I wouldn't care if my friends or family saw me.
Assuming that's you in the avatar @sthozguy81 I think you have the physique. :)
