It just seems that if it is tight enough to not just fall off then it's going to be too tight if it becomes erect. Having it up always feels weird to me. Sometimes I like it to the left but the outline seems way more obvious when wet. I normally have it down as that's where it naturally moves to in the pool anyway. Plus it's safer for any unintentional growth haha.

Can't do down as uncomfortable for me and personally I think down looks unflattering on people and like you are trying to make a bulge - but just my personal view. Each to their own.

Probably sounding like a broken record but my view is if you want to feel comfortable wearing speedos/briefs in everyday situations then I would skip rings, pouches etc etc. Sure there are times when you want to be more sexy or a bit kinky and that stuff is great. I always wear more colourful suits or white briefs etc when on overseas holidays and tanned etc and when I was younger I even wore thongs on some holidays and always at the quiet beach I used to go to at home - but if I am in more local or regular situations I am going to probably stick to solid colours in more regular briefs although they still may only be 1 or 1.5 inch sides and red would probably be the most out there colour.

People should be able to wear what they want when they want, but as a life time brief wearer I think you need to adjust things (pardon the pun) for the situation and sometimes more standard suits and not trying to look like you have a pair of socks stuffed down the front, is the way to go. But each to their own and wear what makes you happy! Life is too short to worry about others.
