Re: Manscaping and the locker room.
I tend to do a little bit of manscaping. However, I have noticed that I am bushier than most of the other guys in the showers these days. Initially that made me feel somewhat self-conscious, but I got over it rather quickly. If they are going to stare it will probably be because I have a foreskin, not because of the presence (or lack of presence)of pubic hair.

I guess one way to avoid being conspicuous is discreetly check out amount of hair/grooming of other guys and then try to match the same level of grooming, if you have no strong preferences of your own in that department?navyblackmaroon wrote: ↑Mon Jan 29, 2018 1:11 pmI tend to do a little bit of manscaping. You are probably right. I would do more manscaping, but I am just too lazy, lol.

Hmmm... Does being different than the majority of other guys -- say, with facial hair, full beard, no facial hair, hairy or hairless bodies -- bring similar bouts or possibility of feeling self-conscious?
Re: Manscaping and the locker room.
well since our pool showers now refurbished with doors and walls, i guess i wouldnt have a problem haha

Just do the amount of 'scaping you feel comfortable with, that's what I say. I trim, but don't shave, as I am a bit thick and bushy down there by virtue of genetics. But I just do it with a scissors now and then - it's not a big ritual or anything.navyblackmaroon wrote: ↑Mon Jan 29, 2018 2:05 pmYou are probably right. Re: Manscaping and the locker room.
I sometimes wonder too. I'm well over 49, still fairly lean, wear a speedo, take a shower, and don't mind being seen naked. I manscape to about a half an inch and like my balls smooth.Bullseye wrote: ↑Mon Jan 15, 2018 11:59 amYes, I feel conspicuous. Most of the guys at my gym who shower are older and definitely do not manscape! Most of the younger guys (who I suspect might manscape) seem to avoid showering at the gym. And if they do change in the locker room, they usually change under a towel to avoid being seen. So being 49, and being a speedo swimmer (which is not common at my gym), I often wonder what they might be thinking.

Exactly. Do it however you like it. I'm 60. Not the pretty buff teenager I was in the 70's and far from a speedo bod, although I still wear speedos and bikini/thong underwear every day. But I've been shaving some or all of my crotch for nearly 40 years, and have kept it totally bare for most of the last 20. My wife used to hate it - now she hates it when I have stubble. I actually did laser hair removal this last year - mixed results. I have more gray than I care to admit, but my pubes were still pretty dark, so they're essentially gone. Now I just shave my balls once a week and I'm good.blueflinch wrote: ↑Tue Jan 30, 2018 2:57 pmJust do the amount of 'scaping you feel comfortable with, that's what I say. Screw the guys in the locker room and showers. I grew up at a time that we had gang showers from junior high through college. Cocks are cocks - big, small, and everthing in between.

What was your experience with laser hair removal? What were the downsides of it?jwkalpha wrote: ↑Sun Feb 04, 2018 11:41 amExactly. Do it however you like it. I'm 60. Be glad you look that young. No one is going to mistake me for a boy.
Re: Manscaping and the locker room.
For the parts with dark hair it worked great. My pubes are almost non-existent. My balls, unfortunately, have a lot more gray hairs than dark. The dark hair is gone - the gray remains. Wish I would have done this years ago. There's a place in Atlanta that has great rates compared to most - under $500 for 12 monthly treatments, and with a real laser, not IPL.navyblackmaroon wrote: ↑Sun Feb 04, 2018 4:35 pm
