'70s Board Shorts

Post by Thom » Mon Aug 27, 2018 7:09 am

In the '70s, board shorts were short, and they weren't so loose and baggy. I have a pair of Birdwells from back then, but they're a little small, since I've gone from a 30 to a 32 waist--in board shorts, anyway. They used to have a shorter version than this one in the pic, which is from their web catalog. They're made out of sail cloth nylon and last forever.

Birdwells are unlined, so wearing a speedo under them is perfect. You can ditch the shorts and go for a swim. And when you put your shorts back on, they don't get soggy, since they're nylon. I notice they sell them in stretch materials too, but I doubt those fabrics will last as long.
