Skimpiest suit to swim laps

Post by MeSooQuiet » Wed Oct 03, 2018 4:27 pm

Just curious as to what is the skimpiest suit you have worn at a pool to swim laps in. I have worn both a speedo solar and a Sporti euro with the liners cut out. I like the coverage of the Sporti but not how it crushes your package. I have been looking at Gary Madjell Greek bikini, and was curious if they hold up well for lap swimming. If not any other suggestions. I am looking for a suit with 1” or smaller sides. Something that sits low and has a pouch that isn’t too constricting. The back should sit high enough so that crack isn’t showing. I have no problem if some cheek is showing as I cannot avoid it with most suits due to my build in that area.

Was in Asia and had to wear an arena swim brief one time..closest thing I felt to not wearing anything at all. Was definitely on the skimpy side

For me it's a Joe Snyder bikini to my university's lap pool! The bikini itself can be worn as either swimwear or underwear.

I've worn Joe Snyder to that pool many times and no one has batted an eye, even with the 1" sides, color (yellow and pink colorways), and overall skimpy cut.

I’ve recently worn this one when swimming: www.internationaljock.com/lasc-super-lo ... 72550.html. It might fit what you’re looking for. I chose it for myself because size S in most brands is still too big for me, so I decided to take advantage of its cut.

For me it was the Mategear Ryon Hun. I wore it before at the beach, but never in the pool for laps.
I must say it turned quite a lot of eyes! https://www.mategear.com/collections/sw ... i-ryon-hun

For public pools I think the smallest I would go would be 2" sides and one size smaller.

How does size small in that one compare to other brands? I wear a small, which usually fits well. I love these LASC super low rise suits but wondering if I should size up or if a small is still fine. Does it stretch easily or is it more fitted with less Lycra in the blend?

I've worn a JanSport swim brief, with sides about 1", for lap swimming until it wore out. I still own it, but it's too far gone to wear to the pool any longer. I don't think it's being made any more. Currently it's a Sporti Euro in black or red (as in my avatar).

My all-time favorite suits are the Japanese briefs from tomsports.com and jpnswimming.com. Most of them have the sides listed as 3 to 3.5cm., but in reality if you downsize a little they can be much smaller than that. Material is usually 70% polyester/30% polyurethane, very thin and light, but durability is respectable. Yes, expensive but they look great and feel like you're wearing nothing as you crank out the laps. Highly recommended by me.

If you can get away with waring a medium in most, then sizing up will probably be okay, but it's probably not necessary. Although it has less fabric coverage and quite stretchy (but will spring back if you stretch it out), the waist is still regular, which is what I think you need to mind the most.

Here’s a Gary Majdell Greek bikini. Not sure how good it would be for lap swimming. It has a draw string and a roomy pouch. They don’t hold up real well though. They fade easily and the stitching seems to come out.

Looks great on you BJE! Thin fabric doesn’t hold up to chlorine? Great looking tan too!

G'day guys,

I once wore a pair of white AussieBum Coolabah's to the pool here. It isn't skimpy but super, super see through when wet.

Getting out of the pool I was pretty quick.

I did once order a nice pair of N2N that looked more like asian/Japanese speedos. They were tiny but fell apart which was a shame.

If I swam laps at the pool then it would have to be Adidas 3-stripe briefs, Adidas Parley, Funky Trunks briefs, Arena or Budgy Smuggler.
Love speedos, running shorts, rugby shorts, Aussie rules footy shorts.

My skimpiest suit I've worn out is a 1" aussiebum nylon suit. It sits really low on my hips, cuts high on the legs, but has enough room in the pouch so as to not crush my package.
