Speedos spotted at the pool today

Post by rockman748 » Sat Feb 01, 2020 7:13 pm

So the local gym I go to recently opened up a new location as an upgrade to their old gym and they built a new pool to go along with it. I've been hesitant to wear speedos to the new pool since the old gym used to have stupid policies like no tank tops for "health reasons," which they did away with now for the new gym. I had looked into the policies and saw that for swimwear it only says "Patrons must wear appropriate, non-restrictive, swimming attire," which as we know that's a vague definition. Today right after I got into the pool there came a dude walking out from the locker room wearing a blue ~4" TYR brief.

Want to know what happened when he walked past the lifeguard?

Absolutely nothing, they didn't even glance at the man for what he was wearing. Then he got in the pool and began doing laps and not a single person said anything to him. Definitely lets me know that I'll be good to wear one the next time I'm at the pool, but I'll just need to get up the courage to do it.
Just a straight guy who likes speedos and aussiebums

What’s more appropriate than a speedo at the pool? Weird rules

What on earth is "non-restrictive" swimming attire?

I recently started going to a college pool in my city as the pool closer to my house closed down for renovations, and I think 70% of the men wore speedos, 20% jammers and the remaining 10% wore regular loose fitting shorts.

I felt so comfortable rocking my bulge in my tiny blue speedos :D

I wonder where the notion ever came from that briefs were not appropriate swim wear at a pool?
Probably after some hoser wore a g string at the kiddies pool. Way to go.
Celebrating my fiftieth year of swimming competition. Have never experienced any anti-speedo attitude at any pool, ever, anywhere.

Oooooh. Well, that actually does make sense. A birthday suit IS non-restrictive.

The rule at my athletic club is that swimwear must be worn in the pool. As opposed to street clothes or gym clothes. I asked about speedos and the aquatics director said a speedo is swimwear so it’s not against the rules. Then she added “besides, you look good in them”.

I would hope that speedos are spotted at every pool every day (except women-only hours)! And even then, on the pool deck as "observers"!
