I second this. The trunks are not the least bit flattering

Obviously being the speedo enthusiast that I am, I prefer the speedo. However, I can see how some people might find the square cut more attractive. Both are definitely better than the trunks. The speedo definitely shows a much leaner look.

I have seen men look good in square-cut. but honestly, I think your body looks best in your speedos. :P

Definetly speedos first and square 2nd. The shorts doesn't really give a sportive look.

If you've got the legs and your tummy's not too big, then I think speedos are always a winner. :P

I think the speedos, but I think jammers are better than the square cuts, then the boardies.

I definitely think the speedos look the best. They flatter your body shape much better than the trunks or square cut.

I wonder if my wife would be cool with me wearing a square cut on the cruise we're planning on going on. What brand is that? It looks great! (Though I agree with you that the speedo is the best)

The square cut is a Sporti and the brief is as well.

Probably not a bad compromise if she struggles with you wearing briefs. It's could be a way for a happy medium when you all are together. If they fit well, they really are not anything that would stand out. The key is the fit and you have to look at it from her perspective of fit. That's always the approach I take to any of my suits and so far things have gone well. While my wife is ok with the ones I normally pick, she has at times put limits on certain types suits that we have seen together.

While I like to look good, I don't like to draw attention to myself if I don't have to. Correlate the point to my suits - The suits I choose are not small (sides), tight or really bright (just my preference). The fabric has to be the right look and feel. If you can see any sort of VPL, it's automatically off the table. I am not even thrilled when one can make out how I am positioned. I know these are few of the things my wife looks at too when she sees me in a suit. I think this approach has served me well and why there is no push back for wearing them beyond just swimming laps or during my Masters class.
