Getting friends to wear speedos.

Post by jtswims » Thu Oct 20, 2022 3:37 pm

I swam in HS so I was used to wearing speedos. In college, our University Pool was torn down while they built a new $200 Million pool and Rec. Center on campus. But there was an old YMCA type of club just off campus that had an old pool and gym that most of us joined because it was so cheap. A few of my friends swam in HS and were used to wearing speedos. We started going everyday and rocking our speedos. So we started asking our other friends to go and swim with us. I always kept an extra speedo or two (plain Black or Navy size 30 & 32's) in my locker and you would be surprised how many of my friends we got to wear speedos for the first time,
After a few weeks we had a regular daily Swim Club. About 5 of us would go on average and everyone was cool wearing a speedo because all of us did except for one guy who bought a jammer, We would swim around 2,000 yards then hit the hot tub then, the steam room. No hot action in the steam room to report. But it was really cool having my closest friends swimming with me in speedos everyday.
This went on for a couple of years until the Y we went to got tore down upon the new Rec. Center's completion. Senior year several of us still swam at the new Rec. Center. But I missed the old Y and how we would have it to ourselves. Has anyone else gotten their friends to wear a speedo?

Thanks for sharing, what a great story! I haven't gotten any of my friends to wear a speedo, but this story hopefully urges me to try to nudge them more!
