I'm curious about the wife dynamic for those of you that are married. Specifically, how do your wives feel about you all wearing speedo's?

My wife is impartial about it, but thinks it's funny, and makes fun of it sometimes - in a good natured way. I'm a swimmer, so she knows I'm in them regularly at the pool. I get a pretty obvious speedo tan in the summer from swimming outside, and she just giggles about it sometimes when I'm naked and makes fun of my white ass.

I've worn them while on vacation a few times, but she's impartial about it. I asked her if she was cool with me wearing them and she said jokingly something like I just wanted to show off my dick. From her perspective though, it's just not a thing like it is to me/us. Of course, I was horny AF during these times because I was there, hanging out by the pool or ocean in just a speedo, with a hotwife next to me, trying to avoid a raging boner...leakage was a problem, but that's another story.

In her eyes, speedo's just aren't a thing. What's it like in your worlds'?

I had sex with men before we were married, but considered myself straight (my rural WVa upbringing wouldn't let me consider any other possibility). I mentioned it before we were married, and she chalked it up to youthful experimentation. For the 35 years we were together I was mostly faithful. I'm not proud of the few male-male dalliances over that time, but they happened and without her knowledge. It was definitely NOT encouraged. Now that I'm out, I'm still on good terms with her and her extended family (sisters, nephews, and their families) is still my extended family, including welcoming my husband to the fold.

I have always worn speedos to beaches, pools or sunning and it has never been mentioned either positively or negatively, it is just what I wear.

My wife knows that I wear them to swim laps, and like you I get a pretty good speedo tan from lap swimming outside. But she's not a fan. She thinks they're unnecessarily drawing attention to myself and has said, many times, something to the effect of "no one wants to see the shape/outline of a man's penis through his clothes. Eeew."

We don't live far from a popular beach vacation area, and when we go (and I've posted many times about this in other threads on this board), I generally tan in my speedo when she's not around- like maybe earlier or later in the day while she's back at the condo. On those occasions where we've been on the beach together and I've wanted to tan in my speedo, she hasn't really been too keen on the idea. On our last beach trip, in fact, I laid out in front of our beach umbrella in my shorts (speedos on underneath, of course) and afterwards she thanked me for not taking them off.

I get it. Speedos are not, generally, something that the vast majority of straight guys wear, and it's definitely attention-grabbing. To me, that's all part of the thrill, but she'd rather we just stay inconspicuous.

Agreed 52dno98, it's part of the thrill to wear them in public. And, it's great of you to compromise when she's around...that makes for a healthy marriage.

I've had mixed reactions from girls I've dated over the years.... one in particular loved them and would tease me when I wore dork shorts in public situations where I didn't think speedos were appropriate. I've also had the opposite, girlfriend who don't like me wearing them at all.

I laughed at the jokes about a white ass and a speedo tan, that does seem to be a common theme I get from girlfriend. Most of the time my speedo tan is pretty good.

What I love about the speedo tan is that it's (semi) permanent; it can't be taken off when convenient. There is no hiding from the obviousness that you wear them.

I love it when changing or showering at the gym, or when getting a massage, or getting a doctors exam. Sometimes people stare, or give a disapproving look, or giggle, or sometimes they smile. Regardless, it's fun and creates for more interesting situations.

Yes, straight guys can have speedo fetishes. At least a mild speedo fetish for me. I don't think my wife would be happy if I were in a thong in public, but she does encourage me to rock my collection of swim briefs whenever we are swimming, or hot tubbing, or on a beach. She wears a conservative one-piece and always worries about her weight. I'm an ectomorph, that is, skinny, so we make an odd couple. We are in our 70s, so people (including our family) humor us. I have a white beard, so I've had teenagers call me a ripped Santa Claus, hmm? My wife tells me that older women ogle me, hehe? The gentlemen of whatever orientation in their board shorts are polite and often a bit envious I think. We usually are not shy about nonchalantly engaging people in conversation. We just returned from a family reunion in Arizona. I felt quite at home in the Dolfin racing brief and the Speedo edurance+ that I'd packed along. However, I couldn't convince my son to try the traditional sunga. They think of me as a swimmer, so it's okay for me, but for them the air temperature getting out is way too cold.

keep wearing the speedos to match your wife's one-pieces. try the thong when she wears a one-piece because you both will love it!

My wife is pretty neutral on it. Initially I think she thought it was funny and tried to encourage me to wear shorts (not long shorts, like 5") which she liked better. She was a little nervous about being in public with me in them, especially if it was at the apartment pool or anywhere we might see someone we know. Now she knows it's just my preference, a thing that I like, and she doesn't give me any trouble about wearing them when swimming or at the beach or on vacation, as long as they aren't see through or too cheeky. I don't wear them around our family, though, because they're pretty conservative and I'd never hear the end of it.

My wife doesn't mind it, though I think she would prefer me to stick to square cut suits, she thinks they are more modest. But I have gone to the beach, and a few pools in speedos with her and our teenage kids numerous times with no issues.

A story:
My wife’s brother has a close Brazilian friend, a physician, who in fact is the man who introduced him to his Brazilian wife. The friend and his wife visited here in California this summer. Their daughter also lives here; One day we all met at the community pool, not my brother-in-law, but the rest of the Brazilian contingent. The women were in hot bikinis of course, but this male friend showed up in a conservative trunk. I did show up in a sunga, yeah!. I felt good, and I think the ladies liked the look and the attitude. Having fun, that’s what it's about. In talking with the man, it turned out that my brother-in-law had told him not to wear anything that shows his thighs or quads; that would be ridiculed in US America. I’m left wondering if my brother-in-law has been smirking behind my back, unlikely, knowing him, or if he thinks I have special license from the great PooBah to show a bit more skin. We are getting together tomorrow to watch the Brazil/Cameroon game of the World Cup, so maybe I’ll ask him about it, or, maybe I’ll leave well enough alone.

Oh, about thongs, I really don’t like the look on myself, even in private. Maybe someday, a gag to surprise my wife. I like tight 2-3” swim briefs where the top edge falls right on my femoral notch and leaves more to the imagination.
