Cruise and Speedo

Post by Oceanrunner79 » Wed Feb 08, 2023 9:46 am

In November 2022, I went on a cruise to the Bahamas and Coco Cay on Royal Caribbean. On February 2023, I went on a cruise with MSC to their private island in the Bahamas. I was not sure if I should wear my speedos but figured since it's all I wear now I would. I had no issues at all on the ship, on the beach at their private island, or in Nassau. On each ship, there were 6-9 guys also in speed. I was glad to see a few guys also wearing them. Do you wear speedos on a cruise?

On board ship I have found wearing a speedo more of an inconvenience than a problem or issue. In and out of the restaurants and non pool areas is generally frowned upon. Private island stops beaches and around ports never a concern

You can cover up a bit with shorts. Swim shorts that are wet are very uncomfortable and you can't walk around in them either. They also take forever to dry. Therefore the brief is clearly the best choice here.

You can get quick dry ones.

I've literally just got back from a cruise and wore exclusively speedos. It wasn't a problem at all, and I saw several others in speedos too. I can't imagine wearing anything else to go swimming or sunbathing. I always find it daft the way people in dork shorts try to roll them up to get a better tan rather than just wearing better clothes.

On my past 3-4 cruises I haven’t hesitated to wear them poolside, but I always wear shorts and a tank top to and from the pool deck. With varying degrees of anonymity since I was traveling with my dad each time and rarely got time to myself, and on one my entire family came. I think there were only one or two occasions where I kept the shorts on, either because I was trying to lay out but it was too cold, or because I felt gross after having overindulged at the buffet lol
