Getting Hit-on While Speedo Shopping

Post by speedostud » Sat May 18, 2019 7:44 am

Has anyone ever had a sales attendant hit on them while shopping for a swimsuit? I was in Miami this week for work, and managed to get away to the beach between meetings (for a quick coffee, no time to swim or tan), and I stopped into a men's swimwear store. It was a small boutique style place, and there was a swimsuit in the window that grabbed my eye.

The guy working there was a middle-aged white guy, bit of a dad-bod, but handsome-ish. Anyway, he helped me find the suit and took me to the changing room, which was a circular curtain at the back of the store. He lingered outside and wanted to know if it fit okay and if I needed another size. I opened the curtain and let him see it, we both agreed the fit was a bit tight and he went to grab another one.

When he came back, I had taken off the suit and handed it through the curtain to him, taking the bigger size. We talked about the weather and had some banter. I opened the curtain again to show him, and he came in close and ran his finger under the waistband at the front and proclaimed it was a better fit. I like a good daddy, and not afraid of a bit of semi-public sex, but I was in a hurry and he had a creepiness to him, like I wouldn't have been the first guy he blew that day.

Anyway, I didn't buy the suit, it was super cute with dolphins all over it, but the butt had a weird cut and was riding up no matter what size I tried.

Nothing quite as dramatic, but one time I shopped a really expensive swim boutique in Fort Lauderdale. Younger guy (20s) was the sales person. I was in my forties, but really skinny at that time. He encouraged me to try on some suits, including one that looked almost frilly, like a woman's bikini bottom. I tried it on for fun. He liked it, and told me so, stepping closer... But I told him I didn't. He backed off, which was good because I'd never had sex with a man. So, I got dressed and headed for the exit. He unlocked the front door. I hadn't realized he'd bolted it while I was putting on the suits.

I can't say this happened to me and I live in South Florida! Granted, my suits don't come from the stores rather online. I can't say I'm interested in getting hit on by dad bods either, lol.

Never been hit on. But then again I have never been shopping for Speedos in a shop. Always buy online.

We don’t have stores like that in the UK, well none near me that I am aware of.
There aren't many shops left in the U.S. that sell swimwear and speedo-style suits exclusively, for men anyway. There are still a few here that sell to women. Might be different in major cities overseas like London, Tokyo, and Sydney. I guess some of the chain sporting goods stores here might have a few brands--speedo and nike. Speedo brand once had a chain of stores in the U.S., mainly in upscale shopping malls. I think they're all gone now. They had one at Copley Place in Boston, a high rent district. There was one near me in Florida. Locally, we had a strip mall store that sold a number of speedo type brands mainly as a team outfitter. But they closed down the brick and mortar store and sold only through their web site. Near Fort Lauderdale, in a city called Wilton Manor, there's a gay oriented shopping center, but the one store that sold brief suits closed down a year ago, and I haven't been there since. Everyone buys on the internet.

I had a similar thing happen at an underwear store. The guy in the store offered to help make sure that I got the right size. He told me that I could try them on. I always get a boner when trying on new underwear. He came into the dressing room, ran his hand along the waistband and the leg opening on the side, and squeezed my penis and said “nice”. He sensed that I was uncomfortable and got out kinda quick.

I wonder if he was intrinsically creepy, or whether things just feel creepy when one or more males are together and one of them is naked. Sex with customers isn't professional - that's for sure. But I wouldn't object to admiration.

Oh, come on now... "horror movie" may be a bit heavy handed there. The attendant was probably interested in a little NSA action but when he found that Thom was not interested he smartly, backed down. He was just trying to show Thom that he was interested and down to play without being too overt about it and he didn't want any other customers surprising them unexpectedly so he bolted the door. I wouldn't read too much into it. He was just looking for some good fun.

Similarly, it is pretty clear that he was interested in a little NSA action. I often wonder how often that sort of thing happens. It has never happened to me, but I love showing off and I'd totally be up for letting my exhibitionist side fly a bit. To be fair though, I don't expect I would take part in any NSA action.

Deliberately blocking or obstructing someone's escape route is horror story to me!

He could have at least ascertained whether Thom was interested or not before locking the door for mutually enjoyable privacy ... It's the fact he just did it of his own accord that's shocking to me.

I've had sales assistants be very friendly and helpful towards me. And at least one gay one (in an adult shop that specialises in underwear/leather, etc) be flirty. However, hitting on a customer is crossing an invisible line in my book. Even if it's not sexual harassment, (because the attention is welcome), it's a kind of favouritism. If sales rep is offering sexy fun to one customer, is he offering sexy fun to all? What about jealousy issues? Some customers feeling less preferred, etc?

By the same logic, this is why management feels uncomfortable when gay spa employees "fraternise" with paying customers (i.e. have sex with customer before or after work shifts or on days they're not working). It's a conflict of interests. Either someone's going to get hurt or a bunch of people (the people who weren't hit on) will feel overlooked.

He'd locked the door to the shop, not the changing room. I guess he thought he might have some speedo fun.

That's what I assumed. He LOCKED YOU IN HIS SHOP. I must be the only person to find this disturbing! Maybe I have claustrophobia?

 I would have found it disturbing, but I only realized it when he unlocked the door. After that it did give me pause. I guess people here are more adventurous than we are. Or I lead a sheltered life. That's it, I lead a sheltered life. It was also twenty-five years ago when I was younger. Today, they'd probably lock me out, not in.
