The ever elusive 1" side bikini

Post by MrMusik » Tue Jul 16, 2019 10:45 am

It seems that there is generally a bit of discussion on this forum about finding bikinis that are both low rise and have an actual 1" side seam as opposed to the wider side seams that are typical on the popular Speedo, Arena, TYR, and similar suits. Yes, the Speedo Solar was originally brought out with a 1" side seam, but as many have noted in these pages, it is pretty much a 2" to 2.5" side seam these days.

I just received a marketing email from International Jock letting me know that they once again have some popular stuff in stock. In particular, it struck me that this stuff from the company "Rick Majors" might fit the bill for the guys here looking for 1" side ultra low rise bikinis and thongs. You can click the link below to visit International Jock's website to see their offerings from Rick Majors. Scroll down a bit, they have a nice selection of swimwear in the thong, bikini, brief, and square cut varieties.
Rick Majors at International Jock

I am not associated with International Jock or Rick Majors in any way other than being an occasional customer of International Jock, though I have never bought any Rick Majors products so I do not know what the fit and finish is like. Though they are made in the USA and have a fairly substantial price tag, so I would expect them to be quite nice. I've always been generally happy with my purchases from International Jock.

Please feel free to post any additional sites you know of that offer 1" bikinis to this thread. I know people are interested, the topic gets a reasonable amount of air time on this site.

Gary Majdell suits are good value for low cost.

That looks good on you, BJE.

I like them and they definitely fit my criteria for preferred styles. I just wish they weren’t $50+. I generally cap swimwear at $30 unless it’s something super special. Rick Majors has several prints I’d love to own! Gotta wait for them to go on sale.

I've been getting my suits from beachndance.com.
The suits have many customization options, side band thickness included.
I always order 1 inch sides.
The have many fabric choices and sales are rather frequent.
They have one on now as buy one get one which is half off the regular price.
Their thongs are nice too.

I recommend tomsports.com for Japanese swim briefs from Speedo, Asics, Arena, and TYR. Most of them are more or less at 1" sides or just a little wider. Yes, they are expensive, and sizing can be difficult to figure out. (I've found that size L is about U.S. 28", size O about 30".) Most suits are labeled 80-85% polyester, 20-15% polyurethane (I don't know how polyurethane is woven into fabric) and they are very thin and light. But I'd call durability "fair"; considerably better than all-Lycra. Where I've gotten most of my suits lately.

They look good, but you need the body for 'em, like BJE obviously has. The Sport Greek bikini is just sensational - love it! :P

I love 1 inch suits. I buy Arena's from Japan and recently purchased an Arigreben.

The problem i have is there is not enough room in the crotch on many of these. My manhood is squeezed way too tight.

I miss the tyr 2 inch. Size them down and they are perfect.

I too had had downsizing TYR. Also Arena.

I would say so. They are a little less than an inch but it varies from suit to suit.

I ordered 4 pair of the Ultra Greek Bikini that’s advertised to be .75”. One pair is arriving today and I’ll measure them. I think the Ultra line is new this year because I haven’t seen them before, at least not on Amazon.

I just looked at my order and discovered that I had ordered the ultra and regular Greek bikinis. When I get home I’ll measure and compare them. The red with white Stars is not the ultra.

The Ultra looks like the perfect cut and is amazing on you BJE! Can’t wait for them to arrive. I just hope the sizing is correct. Thanks as always!

I have them in both small and medium. A think the flag one is a medium and the red with stars and the black camo are small.

My normal waist size is 32

They really are great for a skimpy suit since they are good at covering what needs to be covered without anything extra.

I just got one pair, Stars and Stripes with the silver stars. I sized up based on reviews and this one was actually good in a Medium (I’m usually 30-31” waist and normally wear a small). I’ve noticed with anything that has foil printing, they’re less stretchy than a solid or normal pattern. For those I got a small so we’ll see.

I like how low they sit on the waist and that they have a drawstring. These are the first GM I’ve purchased so it’s always questionable how they’ll fit the first time you order a different brand. Low enough in the back too so it’s a snug, hugging fit but there’s no crack showing. At least I didn’t notice when I quickly looked. And they are a true 3/4”!
