To me there are only two kinds of people, those who classify people and those who don't.
Personally, I admire a fine, physically fit human body in either sex and have always strived to have a very good one myself. Bikini babes are awesome and swimmer guys have the best physique.

What it the reason to label a person. People are who they are whether gay, str8 or somewhere in between. It's like the color of the eyes you were born with. Not much you can do about it. Same with your sexuality. Not much you can do with that either. Who someone sleeps with is their own business. That's not what this forum is about or so I thought

Actually ... I think the OP asked an interesting question.

I have been obsessed with Speedos my whole life. The sight of someone in one is hot. Simple as that. My drive was to get one ... wear one ... and do it outside. I spent years looking for opportunities ... at the beach ... tanning ... in a hot tub ... jumping in a river ... College Pool ... anywhere that I could actually wear one. Nothing to do with my sexuality, I just love the look, feel, freedom and near-nakedness of one. In 2004, I was motivated enough to join a Fitness Center and took up swimming. Legit. I wore a Speedo and started to swim ... and swim ... and swim. Soon, I got better and better. I can easily do 40 laps non-stop. That's a mile. In a Speedo. And I have get really nice tan lines in the Summer!

Now, am I Gay because I wear a Speedo? Not really, because I like females. I wear 'the suit' for me and because I like it and if it attracts attention to me, so what?

But ... I do like guys too! And yes, have done things with them. :)

100% Bi (is that an oxymoron?)

I think a person's individual sexual preference is a linear scale with 100% straight being on one end and 100% gay being on the other end and everyone falls on one end or the other or somewhere in the middle. I happen to be on the 100% straight end. No interest in other dudes, period. Not bi-curious. Not interested in MMF threesomes or orgies where other dudes are participating. Just into the ladies, exclusively. That being said....
Bullseye wrote:Straight, married with children...but with admiration for the firm and fit male form and the men who work hard to make it and keep it that way...and with a crazy desire to swim and play in speedos!
...Bullseye's response fairly accurately describes where I stand regarding seeing good looking guys wearing speedos. Probably because, as a speedo lover, I mentally identify with them and I want to be that good looking guy in the speedo, not be with him. Being totally secure in my own sexuality allows me to admire the good looking speedo dude without embarrassment, fear, confusion or unease. Show me a picture of a great looking, minimally swimsuited hetero couple, I'm going to spend 90% of my viewing time gawking at the chick in the bikini, and 10% of the time admiring the dude in the speedo and wishing I was in his place in that picture. Show me a picture of just the dude in the speedo, and I'm going to spend 100% of my time looking at how great he looks in that speedo, and more importantly to me, how fucking fantastic that little speedo itself looks to me. Especially if it's cut right and fits perfectly.

As to the original question, I think it is absolutely fair game to ask it. Not because we are labeling people, because yes, who cares whether someone is gay or straight or bi - that's not the real point. It's important to ask because, as has been wonderfully demonstrated here in all these responses, it is not exclusively a "gay" thing to be a speedo lover. Or a (male) bikini swimsuit/underwear lover, or thong lover. It reaches deeper into our psyche than sexual gender preference. There are plenty of gay guys that aren't really into speedos. There are plenty of straight guys that are, including me. And the ignorant, unenlightened, intolerant masses out there that automatically would dismiss a speedo wearer as being gay (as if there is something wrong with being gay) are the ones that really should be reading all of our responses.

Yes, it's complicated in practicality, but maybe not so much in actuality. I admire you for living the life that you chose for yourself, and are happily married to your wife and have your family. I just wonder if it is a product of a different time and place.

I just think that folks should be true to who they naturally are, and thankfully, we are increasingly living in a time where they can do that and be happy and healthy and have to deal with fewer societal pressures that force them to compromise.

I'm gay and proud of it... however, in the end it's a label and sexuality is very complex. I'm pretty sure I'll never be with a women, I've never been attracted or turned on by women. I've been out since I was 16 now 24. But you should do what you want and makes you happy who cares what people think. At the end of the day it's your life to live.

Yeah me too!

I won't even define myself as "Bi"/ Heteroflexible/ Homoflexible because labels mean jackshit to me, they are so other people can put you into a box. However I am above all... a biologist, and I've spent far too long dicking about with quadrants and population projections and stuff. My own impression of "Sexuality" is pretty close to Diveguys's. There is a scale between been exclusively into women and exclusively into men, everyone falls somewhere along it. Usually biological distributions follow a "Normal" distribution a.k.a a "Bell-shaped-curve", where the most common position is somewhere in the middle. If that was the case for human sexuality the vast majority of people would be "Bisexual", now this clearly isn't so unless their is an awful lot of lying going on- which I don't believe there is. So this means that the distribution of peoples' preferences is a U shaped curve or inverted normal distribution. OK that's today's tutorial over!

Too much math, Norf!

It's hard enough just converting inches to centimeters and back again.

Thanks guys for all your responses. I found some quite interesting. My intention was not to label guys but just curious about numbers. When I considered myself straight I would always go to a gay beach so I could enjoy wearing a speedo and not feel uncomfortable. But as I got older and experimented on my urges I realized I was gay. So when I see guys on the beach that seem out of place on a gay beach I think back to myself as just a guy who liked speedos. And then your end of the story is your own. Thanks. Again.

Married to the same woman for more than 30 years, yet also attracted to guys. Like some others, I want to look like the buff guy in the speedo. I think I'm doing OK, and hope that I'll always look decent in mine even as I head past 60 toward 70.

Its not that they're a boy or a girl, some people just attract me and some people just dont.
