Speedo weather check.

Post by swimsharkau » Tue Dec 17, 2019 3:06 pm

I will be in a town called Mildura, in Victoria Australia on Friday and the temp is forecast to be over 47 degrees Celsius or roughly 117 Fahrenheit.

Naturally I am planning to spend my afternoon in a pool.

This got me thinking how everyone else was going. Whats the local temp where you are?

Are these typical summer temps for Australia, or is it getting hotter with climate change?

It’ll get to about 8° C today where I live in the SE states.

Depends where in Aus, but mid 40's is pretty common in most of Australia, both inland and coastal.

Yep it’s quite normal to be hitting mid 40’s in Summer. It can be so draining when it’s day after day of these high temps.

8c is freezing, anything under 20c and I wear a jacket! Stay warm

Australia had it's hottest average day on record, with the average temp across the entire country today 41.9C.

It certainly gets pretty hot here but it's especially hot this year...

The temps are going to come right up over the weekend and they were saying 10 days ago the NSW only state bushfire areas are 2.7m hectares (6.7m acres) which is bigger than the country of Wales and the bushfires are still out of control.
