Still building up confidence to wear swim briefs in other contexts besides swimming laps. I did it a few times last summer at the beach and my apartment complex pool, but I wasn't 100% confident.

I think suits that have a contoured front 'pouch' only work well pointing down. So avoid those. Everything else, for me, works great to the side. Brazilian style sungas are super comfortable to the side, since they have more room. I can't position up. If the suit is loose/bigger, it falls sideways ...
