Since I double-posted...yes, I like to talk swimming. Is she on a swim team? Was she in high school? I hsbe a lot of amusing anecdotes about how lousy I am, and how I wish I started younger. If they are a swimmer, this usually is a good subject.

The 5-8 in the starting rotation are in a clump in my gym bag; the rest of the backups are in a clump in a bedroom drawer. For all my love of speedos, they live a rough life. They get swam in, hottubbed in, when one shows noticable wear it gets used until it gives all, then next speedo up.

Oohh yeah, happened a lot. I've also swapped out various drawcords into various speedos that I liked. If the cord has a plastic sleeve on the tip, like a new shoelace, usually it's not too hard to manipulate the end along--push the tip foward, grab the tip through the fabric and pull the fabric back...
