Re: lap swim suit rotation or repetition?
When my suits wear out, they get a worn spot in the buttcrack and usually somewhere in the front. The rest usually looks good but those two mentioned areas go threadbare and it has to go. Now, if I like the drawcord, I'll save that. I have wildly varying qualities of those from various brands, and I...

Re: lap swim suit rotation or repetition?
I currently own 12 suits, and want to stabilize that number. (Trying to last a full calender year without purchasing a new suit, so far so good.) Had to throw out 2 this year. When they start showing signs of wear, I'll use that one exclusively for a few workouts until it's thoroughly finished. When...

There is a swim brief brand called Lahua, sold on some ebay outlets. They have 3 styles of briefs--"triangle" which are kind of standard rear coverage, "half hip" which is quite cheeky, and straight-up thong. They're all quite brief with narrow sides. Lots of colors and prints. They're just nylon/sp...

Re: Speedo guys and bikini bridge girls
clem, she is gorgeous! From this perspective, that bottom looks like a thong; I bet she can keep a pretty good grip on it while swimming. :P I wondered if that helps. 😁 The women's Jolyn brand makes a literal athletic swim workout thong complete with drawstring. That might be one. To see that swimm...

Re: New Aussiebum high rise style.
I totally agree. I don't like the high rise style (I have an XTG high rise speedo and I really don't like it much) plus AussieBum has lately been releasing a lot of ugly designs for their swimwear. I would like them to re-launch the old Lowrider line with the same designs from 2010s -or updated ver...

Back in the early '90s, TYR had what they called a "1" brief" and it was pretty true to size, about as skimpy as the modern Asian briefs. I sent for one by mail-order out of a TYR catalog which I don't even remember how I got. This is before the internet, remember.😁 I was thrilled when it arrived. I...

Yes, that's them. Another seller with an extensive line of them is "ouyunkka". If you want to be...minimal, it's a good suit to try. I have a 31 in. waist and medium fits best for me.

Re: How many pairs of 'speedos' do you have?
Currently sits at 14. Been as high as 20 once, hasn't been less than ~5 in decades. I have literally a speedo for any situation, hence I've made a vow to not purchase any this calendar year. Despite temptations, so far so good. Only culled one this year; a cheap ebay Arena bit the dust earlier this ...

Re: Need recommendations for lap swimming
I have a VXA brief, navy blue. Not bad, a good knock-off of a Japanese brief at a much better price.. The one thing I didn't like was that it had a very loose waist. If you didn't keep the drawstring very tight, it wouldn't stay up very long with serious swimming. Aside from that, a good narrow-side...

Re: Girls Bad Speedo Vibes
Aww you can't sweat it. I think it's kinda humorous when a LG won't look at me. But more often I bust them checking out my bulge, which, um...doesn't help its conspicuousness. I'll chat up a cute guard after a workout anytime. It's just fun.

When I'm in Orlando I frequent the YMCA in the village of Doctor Phillips, just NW of International Dr. My favorite Y in the country. An outdoor pool as nice as any summer Midwest municipal swim center. There, you'll find speedos, jammers and boardies on men, and cheeky 1-pieces and bikinis on ladie...

Since I double-posted...yes, I like to talk swimming. Is she on a swim team? Was she in high school? I hsbe a lot of amusing anecdotes about how lousy I am, and how I wish I started younger. If they are a swimmer, this usually is a good subject.

Re: Wondering how y’all store your speedos - poll
The 5-8 in the starting rotation are in a clump in my gym bag; the rest of the backups are in a clump in a bedroom drawer. For all my love of speedos, they live a rough life. They get swam in, hottubbed in, when one shows noticable wear it gets used until it gives all, then next speedo up.

Re: Briefs similar to Speedo Solar
The Tomsports site has has lots of briefs in the TRUE 1" sides category, but they're all expensive. Stuff that is sold out is still on display for months and months. I don't get it. I've been getting most of my suits lately on ebay from the hotbodsswimmer store and another store I've found, winkkhom...

Re: Tips to get the drawstring out?
Oohh yeah, happened a lot. I've also swapped out various drawcords into various speedos that I liked. If the cord has a plastic sleeve on the tip, like a new shoelace, usually it's not too hard to manipulate the end along--push the tip foward, grab the tip through the fabric and pull the fabric back...

There's a new one of Saylor in the last few days. There's no containing that amazing backside in a swimsuit.
From the vintage video--I had a speedo with the same vertical-stars pattern as that one suit.

Re: Building confidence in speedos
For me it's all about the lap swimming mentality- this is what you wear for swimming laps, wearing anything else is wrong and not appropriate. Own it, and no one cares. Exactly. At one of my outdoor pools this summer, after a workout I would lounge in my brief, getting some sun. It's a perfect situ...
