My friends have speedo rules, no speedos across the road from the beach, no speedos in shops. I do wear them to get take aways and I'll wear a towel over them in beach front cafe/restaurants. I do wear them driving home from the beach/pool if I'm not stopping for anything.

They dry pretty quickly. Maybe wear just plain ones? For under your boardies so they quick dry.

Yes, Aussiebum and a few others are out of Sydney too. Speedos are common here, all swimmers wear them. People just hanging at the beach are mostly wearing boardies.
