Weird (non sexual) request for anyone interested in Sydney

Post by Sydon43 » Sun Jul 06, 2025 6:34 am

G'day to all other Sydneysiders on the forum! I have a bit of an odd (not NSFW) request....

Given the rental situation in Sydney, I'm still living at home, and my parents are quite conservative, and would be less than thrilled about my proclivity for speedos. Until now I've been able to hide them in a backpack.

Since I'm looking to improve my personal fitness and get into swimming, I'd like to use a speedo for its intended use. However, keeping a wet speedo in my backpack is less than optimal, so I was wondering if anyone here would be willing to let me dry it at their place after a swim?

I would be more than happy to pay a reasonable fee for this.

Thanks!

It doesn't take long for a wrung out cossie to dry. In uni I'd hang mine on the passenger grab handle in my old VW Bug and it would be dry by the time I got home. Sun, hot car, open windows ... no worries!

Put a hook on the back of your bureau, then you can hang your speedo where no one will see it. A smaller, unlined suit will dry faster.

They dry pretty quickly. Maybe wear just plain ones? For under your boardies so they quick dry.

I was thinking about that. It's Australia not the prudish US, speedos are very normal here unless you live in the outback or in a conservative Muslim family! Getting mad by finding speedos in an Aussie home is as dumb as bothering because Mexican people eat tacos. Speedos are part of Aussie culture.
Speedos are the best swimwear around. Period.
