Southern New England event alert: Big Gay Beach Day
Just as an FYI to everyone in Southern New England, Big Gay Beach Day 2026 will be taking place at Horseneck Beach State Reservation in Westport, MA on August 1, 2026, beginning at 10 AM. Caveat: parking for out of state (MA) vehicles is pretty steep ($40 vs $14 for MA registered vehicles(!)), so carpooling is recommended to absorb the cost (I'm picking up some Rhode Island friends who are parking in downtown Fall River, so that they can avoid the exorbitant out of state parking fee) Another option is taking the MBTA's new Commuter Rail service to Fall River Depot or New Bedford Station and ubering from either (weekend MBTA Commuter Rail passes are $10 for unlimited use on the whole system all weekend, no idea what a Uber/Lyft fare would be).
