Don't know where you MAGA guys are living.....but things are getting more expensive in the northeast, inflation is NOT under control, the debt is still going up despite the Musk cuts, and there is absolutely no transparency. Trump is a joke! Remember that most of his cabinet members have, at some time, called him a joke as well. Access to power will turn anyone into a liar.

This is such a fair question. Let’s just stick with the facts and then answer the question:

For me the facts are the facts.
Speedos are associated with LGBT: FACT.

Let's unpack this shall we. Facts and perceptions are different; a perception cannot be used as proof.

If you said the Speedos 'R Gay thing in my country you'd potentially be in hot water. Our equality legislation contains principles of discrimination by association and the comment does not need to be aimed at the offended party, not does it have to be perjorative. If it were overheard by a straight Speedo dude and he took offence he'd have a face-value case for discrimination even if you believed all gays deserve a lollipop. It might not stand up in court but you'd probably have to prepare some kind of defence or retraction whilst the legal horse trading played itself out.

As I pointed out in my earlier post Speedos have a history of being for everyone.

The big message here is that using lazy arsed stereotypes- whether it's not hiring certain groups or trying to claim someone for the team based on their clothing- is a hiding to nothing. I'm struck by the apparent homogeneity of "The progressives", verses the variety of people who now cleave to the right, whether it's the size of the Latino vote for Trump, the British Conservative leader (Black girl with cornrows) or her predecessor (Hindu dude representing a virtually all white farming community who's majority kept increasing) neither of them got the liberal memo about being victims, or for that matter the shear number of people I know like myself; socially conservative LGB people. The progressive mind has fuck-all concept of what goes on beyond the Beltway/ QEW/ M25 or whatever the particular country's equivalent of the orbital road between the metropole and everywhere else is and is arrogant enough to project their values onto everyone.

Current Administration is taking action against LGBT: FACT.
Current Administration opposes the Equality Act: FACT.
Current Administration appoints anti-LGBTQ+ Judges: FACT.
Current Administration opposed Job Protections for LGBT People: FACT.

We have a refugee problem in my country but despite having had months to make the journey we aren't getting US LGBTQIA2+ refugees, Ellen Degeneres excepted and she bought her Oxfordshire mansion before the election. I have family in Canada and they assure me that Niagara, Windsor and "The Soo" are not filling up with people escaping the former liberal paradises of SF, LA and Austin.

I was born in Mexico and I have US citizenship since 2019.

I haven't noticed any difference about the perception of speedos between a few years ago and today.

I have been taking small steps in wearing my suits in public. I still prefer places where it wouldn't raise an eyebrow or cause weird looks. I wear them mostly for comfort and practicality. I like how I look in them. I wear them for myself.
