Nike Teraz - is there an equivalent fit?

Read on a speedo site that the Nike Teraz from several years ago was one of the tightest fitting/sexiest speedos ever.
I've seen pictures here of it and the fit looks awesome.
Why did Nike drop the Tteraz? Was it simply a matter of replacing it with a similar fitting suit? If so what is the equivalent Nike suit today.

There's a nice red one for sale here... bit pricey though!

It was tight because guys downsized, it was called sexy because it wasn't lined and displayed detail. I personally don't find Nike suits comfortable so didn't much care for the one I had. That was a lot of years ago. I am guessing the material would be breaking down if you got one now and have very little life left in it.

No way would I pay 100 bucks for a teraz.
The fact that they go for this on E-Bay does tell me they were a hot item once.
I am looking to buy my second speedo. I am not huge and the first speedo I purchased is sort of baggy in the front and makes me look even smaller. It looks like some of the shots of Phelps in a speedo.
I see other photos on this site where the speedo is tight across the front. Like the Teraz. So I am looking for a fit/tightness like the teraz. There are a lot of brands and styles w/in those brands so it is hard to know which is going to be a snugger fit.
Sizing down is one factor but it looks like brand/style is another factor if you want a nice tight fit.
Does anyone know why Nike dropped the teraz? What wass it replaced with - do they have a similar suit today?

Someone gave me a collection of used suits that included a Teraz. The tag was gone, but it was red and unlined and had the Nike swoosh. The lycra is falling apart so I've never posted a pic of it here. I think it's a 28 which is one downsize for me. Fits pretty tight.
I haven't tried any Nikes in a couple years. The Nike suits I tried then at a local sports store just didn't feel right. They had a front lining.

I highly recommend the Nike Hydra or Swift briefs. They have no lining and are made of an amazing tech fabric. I love the fit and feel of it. They have become one of my favorites. With such a slick fabric and no liner, it leaves little to the imagination. Swimoutlet.com usually has them at a good price but they will cost you more than a standard suit. They are not as stretchy as some suits but the fit lasts longer than conventional suits.

Thanks for the advice.
Checked both suits out. Swift is real pricey. Hydra less so. Plus Hydra comes in navy blue and Swift just in black.
Some posters here don't seem to like Nike suits though the comments I read on the swinsuit sites about these two suits were pretty much all 5 star. Tight fit which is what I am looking for.
No liner too but frankly a liner is thin and I can't see it making that much difference. But I'll take everyone's word for it.
I am not restricting myself to Nike for my second speedo purchase but you have really helped. I will post a more general comment about best tight fitting suits in various brands later. Don't want to wear out my welcome. I've been a member less than 2 weeks and have 5 posts already. Or so the profile says.
Thanks for the info.

The only Nikes I tried were the lower priced suits that are sold in chain sports stores (like sports authority). They were not the high end tech suits.
Check out the Speedo Aquablade. It's a tight fitting tech fabric suit that doesn't cost as much. At swimoutlet and metroswim.com. I buy my size...30...and its real tight but comfortable. Don't be shocked when you put on the suit for the first time. It's REAL tight. Once it's broken in it's fine. Always sit on a towel when you are wearing it. Rough surfaces kill the fabric. I ruined a pair sitting on coral stone.
And post as much as you want. This thread has been really helpful for Nikes. I've posted over 1600 times...

since I joined. But that's been spread over four years. If people don't post the forum gets pretty dull.

Checked it out. A little less pricey than the Nike hydra and it comes in 4 or so colors. Great reviews as with the Nike products.
Thanks. Both the Aquablade and Hydra like look like good options.

You're welcome!! I think Metroswim had some discontinued colors on sale. Not alot of sizes tho... I have a hunter green which is discontinued. The royal blue looks cool. I've seen some of that color posted in pics here.

I really like Nike suits - they have less fabric than the speedo suits here in the usa and I think they are more comfortable. I also like the hydra suits. The hydra suits have a waterproof coating that wears off after about 10 swims - once it is gone the suit becomes clingy and revealing. The hydras are more revealing than the regular nike suits - yes, the liner is thin on the regular suits such as "nike core solid brief", but it makes a difference having it there.

G'day guys,
This is a discussion from nearly 10 years ago.
Does anyone here remember the Nike Teraz or ever own one? I had a quick search and couldn't find very much about them at all.
Here is a pic of the Hawaii Speedo Student wearing a pair and they look amazing!!!

I first heard of the Teraz on this site.
Over the years, I found two old-stock Nike suits cheap on ebay that are from the same era. The tags just call them a "championship suit," but they must be nearly identical to the mythical Teraz. They look just like the red one in the pic. Thin fabric that is shinier on the outside. High spandex content, 31%. Unlined. Cut on the small side. Clingy. Same screen printed logo that tends to fade, as in the pic.
I'll be sad when they wear out. I haven't found anything comparable. Feel amazing!
