Is anyone unable to use Tapatalk for this forum? I've used it exclusively up until about a week ago. It won't let me log in and I get timeout errors if I try to register again. I have my ID and password correct (obviously since I'm logged into the web forum). Tapatalk works with the other forums I follow but not this one anymore. Hopefully it can be fixed! It's way easier than having to use the online version since I primarily view and post from my phone. Dave, HELP!!

I've had trouble too. I noticed on Dave's blog that he was making some server changes over the last few days, so I think that's probably related...something got disabled/reset. But yeah I agree I'd like to be able to use Tapatalk again with this forum.

I don't use Tapatalk, chrome mobile mostly. Noticed about a week ago that the forum is now in mobile browser friendly format; a big difference. I really like it.

Tapatalk let me see unread posts, which I don't seem to be able to do from Chrome on my iPhone. That was the best feature! I doubt I'll use this forum much if I can't find a less cumbersome way to read unread posts.

at the top of the page, next to the Quick Links, there are three bars, drop down and you can see Unread Messages.... it's there for Google Chrome for Android. Is it not there for the iPhone version?

I actually like the default version. I was never a fan of the Wallpaper that was installed over the board....

This was how I posted photos and correctly sized them. If Tapatalk 'connection' is not corrected/allowed I also am unlikely to carry on using the forum.

Thanks RMF. I found that eventually before I saw your post. The web version is just less user friendly IMO. One difference is that some of the pictures don't even show up on mobile Chrome. For example, I couldn't see the dad/son beach day photo on my phone, but saw it on Chrome on my MacBook. Really want the Tapatalk functionality to work again. It just made things easier! That includes uploading and sharing photos too because it was so easy to sync with my camera roll on my phone and attach them. Harder to do on Chrome, which means less contribution from me if that's the case. Anyway, stepping off my soapbox, lol!

Oh, one other mention...the mobile Chrome option to view unread posts is semi-helpful. But it takes you to the beginning of the thread. Tapatalk would take you to where you last left off reading. Considering some of these threads have dozens of pages (skimpy suits for example with like 80+ pages), it's difficult to find where I left off, which makes it frustrating and I don't want to spend the time searching.

@DAVE- PLEASE PLEASE Help make this forum work with Tapatalk again!!

Sorry I only just saw this post. Resetting Tapatalk was part of the upgrade and great to hear it is working and great to hear the new layout is more mobile friendly.

Overall Tapatalk isn't a huge thing: roughly 20 users a day compared to nearly 1,000 overall and just under 1,000 of the 65,000 posts. But if it works for you guys that is awesome.

The next 3 days I'll be working on my blog AussieSpeedoGuy.org with some new changes which I think will be awesome as well.

No worries Dave! I find it to be faster and easier to navigate the forum. The best feature though is that it remembers where you left off in threads under "Unread," whereas the web version shows you what threads are unread, but have to go find where you left off specifically. And photos are resized automatically based on the size you select when prompted. I don't even remember how I heard about Tapatalk! But I use it for this forum and one other and it makes it easy for me to quickly check them a couple times a day.

I just find it easier to navigate the forum. The Unread tab will take you to where you left off in a thread, whereas the web option will tell you which thread has new posts, but you have to find where you left off. That can get minorly tedious on threads with tons of pages or for super active topics with lots of comments. It also resizes pictures, making it easy to share them without the use of another app or website to resize. You can mark threads/topics that you want to show up in a main news feed, much like FB. I don't use that because I don't want to miss out on new topics. But I can see some value if someone only wants to follow a handful of threads.

I really feel like I can get through looking at it and responding in half the time, if not more, than I can on mobile Chrome. The simplicity of the app makes the forum more "mobile friendly" and takes some of the nonessential formatting away so you just see simple text and pictures, but in a nicely organized layout. Try it out and see what you think.
