I was searching a bit and thought to put a list here. Which beaches are appropriate for sheer or skimpy swimsuits? Clothing optional beaches:

Sydney: Obelisk Beach
Sydney: Cobblers Beach
Sydney: Lady Bay Beach
Sydney: Little Congwong Beach
Sydney: Birdie Beach
South of Sydney: Werrong Beach
Near Byron Bay: Kings Beach

Melbourne: Sunnyside North Beach
Perth: North Swanbourne Beach
Adelaide: Maslin Beach
Hobart: Long Beach
Noosa: Alexandria Bay
Queensland: Cow Bay

Any experiences with these? Or tips?
which are the best for visiting?

I’m from Sydney. I think all nude beaches is fine with sheer Speedo’s.

Little congwong and obelisk I’ve probably seen more sheer briefs where as cobblers are more complete nude.

Other ones not so sure.

Bondi Beach is apparently popular and packed but I'm not sure if that works for me (for more than one day). From what I read online I was also thinking Obelisk and Little Congwong. Doesn't mean I necessarily want to wear sheer briefs but I just don't want to have to worry about it.

What's the difference between Obelisk and Little Congwong?

yes bondi is always busy.. its ok.

obelisk is an official nude beach with cobblers only like a 10minute walk so its a good option for two beaches
obelisk is quite small though, so on a nice day you would have to go in early.

little congwong isnt officially a nude beach, so sheer briefs would be perfect nude but not nude

What kind of crowds? Where are most speedos?

I don’t think it’ll ever happen but I would absolutely love to lay naked on a beach to tan and play naked in the water as well.

However the water would have to be warm or I wouldn’t want to be seen coming out of the water.

Why not BJE.. you only live once. Maybe find a situation/place where you can do what you want.

Well, I’m probably a thousand miles from a nude beach and even if I was close to one my wife wouldn’t go for it.

My best opportunity for going naked in nature would be to hike to one of the 130 clothing optional hot springs in my state.

At least when getting out of a hot spring I wouldn’t be concerned about being small. I’d be hanging very low and loose.

I think it’s lawful to be naked anywhere in the back country if you are not likely to encounter others.

Indecent exposure is only if you expose yourself deliberately in front of others who are likely to be offended.

I have been naked outdoors on my own property and it feels great.

Great.. the hot springs idea works. I wouldn't worry about being small.. Many of us get shrinkage from cold. If you're really conscious about it and it makes you uncomfortable the maybe one of those speedos with an extra pouch booster would be something for you? I have seen.. not sure.. I think addicted have those?

Here's a pic of the thing i meant. It's by addicted. Personally I wouldn't wear it but if you're too conscious of your size ... worrying about being small.. then this could help. It's removable anyway.

You can not be walking and swimming around constantly worrying about your size. It does not matter. What matters is you feel good in the speedos.. being self-secure. I don't know.. not arrogant or anything.. it's automatic to me. If I walk around in a baggy sweatsuit I might slouch a bit with shoulders down, but when I wear something tight I walk more straight up. At least I think so.. I do it without thinking.

If a young muscular guy has a long snake in his speedos but he hops anxiously like little red riding hood chased by the wolf, to quickly cover himself up with a towel.. and another more mature, average body dude has a small pointy bulge with a tight sack, walking normally and not caring how it looks because he just likes feeling the freedom... then I relate more to the 2nd guy. But I don't know.. I don't really think about it like that when I'm on a beach or at a pool.. I don't look at 'em in a sexual or judgmental way.

Just be comfortable with what you got man. Don't overthink it. And if you want sucha extra pouch thing to get more comfortable, go for it.. that's what they're for.

I’m not concerned about shrinkage while wearing a speedo. It’s being seen naked with shrinkage that might be embarrassing.

The best clothing-optional beach I've been to is King Beach near Byron Bay, northern NSW.

I have visited Alexandra Bay, QLD. It's an unofficial nude beach. (No legal nude beaches in QLD). Very few people were there and there's no much privacy/shade. I wasn't that impressed.

Probably coz I've met nice people when I went there. Plus there's plenty of shade and it's quite beautiful - the walk down and the rainforest behind the beach.

Downsides: brush turkeys may try to steal your lunch (they love raiding bags of potato chips) and leeches (wear enclosed footwear).

I agree with you on A-Bay up near Noosa, I've never seen anyone going nude up there except around Mardi Gras week when the international gay tourists are in town. I used to go up there surfing late high school and it was just another surf break.

I like Birdie Beach which is not far from me. The main nude part is north of the carpark and I usually head south where there is just miles and miles of beach and lots of dunes to duck back into.

The surf break at the north end looks good and I'd love to go speedo surfing there.

Bondi for beach Speedo, though can't really be sheer because it's a busy location.
All pools, though not too skimpy. Speedo endurance 5cm is basically the uniform 100% acceptable.
Though you can get away with a lot more than much of the world.

Cobblers and Obelisk are the main proper nude beaches, mostly Cobblers it's nicer location. They are on opposite sides of the same headland so gives an option with wind direction.
A couple more in the harbour but wouldn't rate them.

Werrong is isolated and more...undisturbed.

Of course there are heaps of isolated beaches on the Australian coast so you can easily pick a location to be alone and wear any skimpy see through Speedo and nobody will even see.
Nobody knows from 100m away and if someone is close just sit down until they pass.

Obelisk is beautiful and I love going there in summer - it's secluded and feels a little like your own piece of paradise, and never too crowded.

No problems wearing sheer/skimpy speedos, but in the spirit of nude beaches I always take my speedos off when I bath and swim

You have to experience nude swim, it's so so good.
Not sexual way, it's just really good and even minimal Speedos will never have the feel.

And waves! A whole extra level.
The harbour beaches have no waves though, unless blowing a gale.

Werrong does, though does have a tenancy to accumulate dead spikey kelp which is highly unpleasant.
(And safety warning, it's a rippy beach with strong undertow, isolated and a danger to a line inexperienced surf swimmer).

But with all the isolated beaches it's easy enough to drop pants on the shore and go for a skinnydip.

Once your junk has been fondled by the surf everything will feel so unnatural.
A must do.

Everyone's balls are a tight bundle coming out of the water so that's nothing to worry about.

And since you will be a bit excited and the feel of it and aren't having the blood squeezed out by tight Lycra it tends to stay bigger than you expect.
You will notice most guys give it a little grab and stretch out before emerging.

Plus it's not like everyone doesn't understand how dynamic make genials are in reality.
It's a nude beach not your usual crowd of prudes.

It's pretty liberating to actually be retracted and then expand to normal and maybe a semi in the warm sun.
