I've posted elsewhere about lifeguards wearing speedos.
Most of the men and about half the women wear t-shirts and shorts over their swimsuits while on duty. The women's suits tend to have cheeky/thong backs.Swimsuit
Lifeguards are required to purchase their own swimsuits. Brand is not important, but they should be primarily solid colors. Your suit should fit comfortably and not require constant adjustment. Some swimsuits are designed to provide minimal rear coverage. Make sure you are comfortable with your choice before you arrive to work.
Males
Red/navy swim briefs (aka "speedos"). No jammers or shorts.
Females
Red/navy one or two piece competition style swimsuit. Bikini bottoms should have a drawstring waist to keep them secure.
