I've started using speedos for swimming at my university's pool, beginning last week. I've worn them at clothing optional beaches before, which was pretty anxiety inducing but, compared to the half of people wearing nothing, I was less anxious because those are spaces were it's more socially acceptable to wear them. But, with the encouragement of my boyfriend (ex-swim team, wears them regularly for lap swimming) I took the leap!

Not totally comfortable wearing them (especially since some people I know personally swim there and my anxiety goes off the scale when I see them), and even less comfortable with the idea of doing it by myself, but it's been nice step so far.

Congratulations! I know it’s challenging at first to wear your speedo in public but the more you do it the easier it gets and then it becomes more about joyful comfort and pleasure.

Yeah, go ahead & wear them! I wear mine everywhere there's a beach or pool - including Aussiebum!

Fantastic! Welcome to the club. There really is nothing quite like wearing a speedo in a public setting. I've been doing it for years now and it's no less thrilling today than the first time.

I have been wearing Speedos for 30 years. When I first started wearing them I was nervous about stripping down to them. In a hotel, I would wear a long shirt, and wear a towel around me, then when I got to the pool, I would drop the towel, and take off the shirt. Now, I put on Speedos, and more recently a Thong. I don't take anything with me except the room key. Walk out of the room, down the hall, wait for the elevator, take down the elevator, many times people get on, and walk to the pool. Sometimes I have to walk past the front desk.

One time there were no towels at the pool, you had to get them from the front desk. Walked down in just a Speedo. There were 3 people in line in front of me. Waited in line, pet a dog of one person that came thru, talked to people. The next morning, walked from the pool to the breakfast area, and made a Belgium waffle, and got other items, all with people walking around. I realized later I had pulled the speedo up into a thong. Went and took the elevator back up to the room.
