Dissolving swimwear: anyone tried it?

I've just become aware of an innovation in swimwear: suits held together with thread that dissolves in water.
it seems that the thread is widely used in dressmaking as a temporary measure, but manufacturers have started making "prank" suits that part company after a few minutes immersion, leaving the wearer completely exposed.
Does anyone have experience of these? They open up all sorts of possibilties, notably for revenge presents to board short wearers!
