Question: Can you 'dye' a speedo to a darker shade?

I have a red aquablade brief thats fading (it's never been in a pool), I'd misplaced it after I moved a couple of years ago -- found it in a box in the garage recently. Maybe the heat took it's toll on it, I don't know. It fits fine, no deteriation anywhere.

Has anybody ever tried to dye one? Would the hot water ruin the material?

Scott,
It did not work with the polyester/spandex blend --
doesn't look much different than it did before except
it's splotchy and the drawstring & speedo decal is now
pinkish. :x

It DOES work on nylon/lycra suits though -- but take
into consideration the liner (if you leave it in), the
drawstring & emblem as noted above.
