Squarecuts?

I know this isn't a square-cut forum but I just wanted to throw a question into the pool, so-to-speak.

I was telling Scotty that I'm thinking of selling some of the suits I have now (that I won't ever wear for sizing or other reasons) and buying something a little more moderate.

The only issue is that my waist is pretty small. Looking for speedos, which fit is hard enough. Square-cuts and (relatively) short swim shorts that will fit me are probably going to be even harder to find.

I don't know if any folks here wear these kinds of suits or are fans of these suits but I thought I'd ask anyway.

Thanks, guys!

Square cuts don't really work for me. The sides ride up or something, and they don't look--well--square. {:-(.

Timoteo makes some square cuts. They're a little expensive. I prefer just a plain solid rather than a fashion cut/print. https://www.timoteo.net/store/index.php ... at&catId=5

Thanks, Justin... actually they don't look so bad. Although honestly looking at them may have just made me stop looking for that kind of cut. I always forget that while they don't fit me, they are also very unflattering to the wearer. I feel that the straight lines are opposed to the "V" of the male torso and so it looks kind of strange. Ugh... oh well... given the paucity of responses I think I'd be right in saying that this forum ain't the place to ask, which is probably a good thing since speedos are WAY finer :)

I think they might work for you in an XS size. Problem is that they don't seem to make square cuts that small. Maybe N2N has something. If you could get them in a square like the kid with all the hair in the N2N boxster underwear pic in another thread, they might work. He looked hot. Cut real low in the groin and butt.

When my family had a Swim & Tennis membership, a German dude did his laps in an Adidas square cut. Looked great. can't find them in the US tho....

Actually, N2N does have one in a solid. http://www.n2nbodywear.com/mm5/merchant ... =TrunkSwim

The pouch design is a little exteme. Still no XS tho. {:-(

If you don't have a butt square cuts don't look that great on a guy. Jace and I have swimmer's butts but they're full and not flat so they fit us better. What size waists do you guys have?

Matt, I think you've hit it right on the head. I don't have much of a butt at ALL, hehe. I wear size medium in japan sizing or XS in most other places. In fact Aussiebum XS is probably too big for me. So ummmm yeah.....

Also, Justin I actually happen to not hate those N2Ns but you're right that they're not modest at all. Do you like these in black?

Not that it matters since N2Ns are always too big hehe.

Essentially. That wouldn't be so bad I don't think :)

I wear suits that range from 28 to 30 depending on who made it. I'm more flat than full. That's why really small Asian cuts look better. So I guess we have to buy a suit to fit the body.

Like you said, I don't hate them, but they'd probably be too big for me. Also the pouch is for gay beaches not the Palm Beaches where I swim. On the Timoteo page there's a grey square. https://www.timoteo.net/store/index.php ... ductId=326 But it comes only in S, no XS. Too big for you and probly me.

Akshully what you might try for a more conservative but still flattering suit is an Asian style jammer that is basically an Asian speedo with legs attached. Forget the American ones with the center seam in back and front. Those are as dorky as board shorts. Asian ones are expensive. I bought a Yingfa Chinese knockoff for US$30 just for sizing. Fits tight and low. But I want one made in Japan. They really are beautiful. $$$ tho. You can buy them real small.

Excellent idea, Justin. Any particular suits you have in mind? I'm not exactly ready for another $100 on an Aqux ;)

Let me know, thanks!

Tyr makes a jammer with Asian seams. It's abut $51 at swimoutlet.com. They come in small sizes down to 20, I think. Read the customer comments. Here's a link.

I'll have to look for some true Asian jammers. They're harder to find. I missed getting an awesome pair of Arenas last year on ebay. Once when I was swimming at the Fort Lauderdale aquatic complex, someone had a pair. They were tight and low and he looked awesome.
