Has anybody had any experience with the Italian swimwear brand Diana?

Some of their brief styles caught my eye awhile back so I finally decided to buy two briefs and two trunks from Overseas. (I'm in Aus.)

I was very excited when they arrived, but after trying them on am disappointed to say the least.

I'm a size 32 usually but the size 32 brief is so small I can't even get it on. It's roughly the same size as a 24" boys suit. It's tiny.

The other three pairs are all supposed to be 34" but vary so much in size from one to another and have absolutely no room in the front at all.

I'm not large by any means, but could not stand wearing them for very long. There is no pouch at all, and they squash you so flat in the front.

Lastly the material on 3 pairs is a polyester blend that is very harsh, a lot worse than Speedo's Endurance fabric. Has no stretch, no give, and feels like hessian.

I definitely would not recommend this brand to anyone unless they try it on first.

Thanks for the heads up. Nothing more annoying then waiting and being disappointed with your purchase. I find that the European/Japanese sizes are way off. I bought a pair of seobean suit large and I am a 32. And it still really small and tight. I only wear to one pool that is usually empty since the back looks almost like a rio cut

Interesting. I have seen these suits in a sports store when I was in Italy and they didn't seem to be off size. I didn't try on a pair but they looked normal size. They do carry Youth sizes which I wonder if that could be the issue. When you posted, that was my first thought since 12Y is labeled at 32 on their conversion chart. How are they labeled on the tag? CM?

I have had a couple of Italian suits and they have been pretty much true to size. China is a different story. My first thought was that you purchased a Youth suit but then again, depending where you purchased them, they could be fakes.

If you have time, take a few picutres of the tags and post them. Maybe someone here can help figure it out for you.

Wow, great source, thanks! Scanning through their briefs, I found these AMAZING looking skimpy suits from Diana called the "Farrel" line. The narrowness of the sides is incredible. Just what some guys here have been lusting over for several years now. Plus they have a drawstring! I just wish they didn't have the silly "I'm on fire!" heat transfer message on the backsides. How literally stupid. I wonder if they'd consider custom making these without the heat transfer stuff... I'd definitely be willing to pay an upcharge for that.

The "Farrel" is the size 32 I bought which was ridiculously small. It was a pity too as it was also the small sides/skimpy size of this one that would of made it my favourite..

Those suits scream I'm flaming gay!! I like that. It's like free advertising.

Ha! Maybe so but problem is I'm not! But I love the cut of those suits sooooo much! Just hate the graphics.

If you tag says 32, then you definitely purchased a Youth suit and not an adult 32". Italy uses CM. A size 30", Men's Small equates to an Italian size 44. A size 32", Men's Medium is an Italian size 46.

How big do these suits go up to in Italy and elsewhere in Europe? We know how difficult it is to find larger "western males" sizes in asian swimsuits. When I measure a line around where I would position the top edge of a speedo, It's an actual 34", minimum, and that's not fat, that's hip bone, and it ain't gonna get any smaller.

The go very big and they bigger sizes are not hard to find if you know where to look and understand the size translation. CM & Inches really mix people up and then you have to consider it's not a straight correlation. Head, Diana & Arena all have very small 1-2" sides and are considered top quality. They are superior over Asian brands.

Swimminn has bigger sizes and is very good at listing the size chart with each suit. Sort under Mens Swimwear, Brief, Low to High. You will see some decent priced suits. The smaller sides are Head, Arena and Diana. Pick the suit that you like and then click the size chart. It will help you figure out the size translation. For example, Head 34" is about a 50/52. This is different from Arena or Diana. There seems to be a good looking Green dot Head suit, 1" sides in a 52. Some suits qualify for their Easter sale of 5% off is you use egghuntinn as your code.
