Maybe they had the USA added afterwards. Possibly for Olympic tryouts or something? Looking at the flag on the front of her suit, it makes me think the same about that also being heat transferred. Just a thought.

I bet that's it. And also, it looks like the sides might be smaller than on a typical suit?

I found it and ordered it and now have it but I haven’t worn it yet. The USA lettering is not on it though. The size is 32 and the sides are 2 1/2 inches.

I finally wore it for the first time. It’s cut higher in the front than I like and it’s not very stretchy material. The front is flat with no pouch so it smashes you rather flat.
