Need recommendations for lap swimming

I'm looking for swim briefs with shorter side seams (~1-1.5 inches) for swimming laps. I like the briefs made by Arena Japan, but I'm not a big fan of having a huge logo right on top of my junk.
Anyone know any American brands or brands that ship to the US that also have this style? Looking for something made of polyester instead of nylon/spandex so it'll hold up to 3-4x weekly swim sessions.

Speedo solar are a great cut. They are 2" sides these days, but they look great and fit perfect, at least for me

I totally agree with you. I really like my arena’s and enjoy the smaller cut and fit. But not a huge fan either of the huge logo up front. I’ve been looking into these suits made in the US. I haven’t bought a pair from them yet, but they really look promising. Inspired directly from Japanese designs, they have short, sleek 1 1/4” sides. A Smooth, seam free flat front that comes unlined. Made of 85% polyester, perfect for laps.

Your post lead to correcting my belief that Nylon was polyester, but in fact it is polyamide! Gonna make a chemist out of me!
I lap swim in AussieBum 1.5 classics or WonderJocks - nylon , though.

There are two types they offer. The shark skin version is 82% polyamide and the original is 85% polyester.

Do you have any photos wearing the VXA suits? Would love to see them

Thanks for the recommendations guys! I have a pair of Speedo Solar 1s already. They've held up well enough so far, but the color has noticeably faded and they're starting to show wear. The VXA briefs looks great, I'll probably give them a shot. Though I have some qualms with an unlined front.

I have a VXA brief, navy blue. Not bad, a good knock-off of a Japanese brief at a much better price.. The one thing I didn't like was that it had a very loose waist. If you didn't keep the drawstring very tight, it wouldn't stay up very long with serious swimming. Aside from that, a good narrow-side suit.
I've discovered a brand called Lahua, sold on ebay. There are several sellers there. Cheap, unlined, lycra skimpy briefs. You'll find that each suit has 3 rear coverage options--what they call "triangle" (regular coverage) "half hip" (very cheeky) and straight-up thong. I tried the half-hip...sorry, I'm not brave enough in public. The regular is more than skimpy enough. Give 'em a try. I've worn them for swim workouts and they're holding up fairly well. You could buy 3 of them for one Asian brief anyways.

Not sure if they are actually from Lahua, but here is a link to a website that is selling something that looks pretty much as described above. Lot' of pictures to show you how the different rear coverages and front pouches look like on a hot model.

Also found this ebay link for another Lahua suit, called zebra. Again lot's of pictures. Same model by the way, so I guess the suit in the top link is also from Lahua?

Yes, that's them. Another seller with an extensive line of them is "ouyunkka". If you want to be...minimal, it's a good suit to try. I have a 31 in. waist and medium fits best for me.
