Speedos, by George! at Walmart
Hi everyone:
Walmart has everything!
I was strolling through the Wasaga Beach Walmart last Saturday and spotted what looked like speedos in the men's wear, but they were Walmart's own "George" line of men's wear (made for the budget conscious [like me]). So, they looked pretty good. There were 2 brief style in black and my size, and also some blue square cuts in S-M-L. For $7 a pop, I think a real bargain. I opted for the black briefs, as I think square-cuts don't look good on me. No logo, and the fit is alot like the sporti regular brief, the material though, not as rubbery/stretchy (thick like Vuthy). All-in-all, and nice fit and look.

Re: Speedos, by George! at Walmart
Good find--Hopefully this is a trend that will continue. None of our Wal-Marts carry anything close to speedos, but I did read at one time this summer a few in the southern states did.
Re: Speedos, by George! at Walmart
Not really a staple in our southern Ontario Wallies, either. As for men's swimwear, the racks are typically stocked with thousands upon thousands of boardies.
I think they shipped the briefs from another store to the Wasaga Beach location b/c they figured they sell faster to day-trippers who travel there on a lark w/o a swimsuit and decide to go to the beach anyway, so they need a cheap suit real quick. They were priced to sell!
A few years ago at this same Wal-Mart, I came across some Arena briefs--same deal--priced to sell. I bought one pair in navy, but it didn't stand up to the chlorine in my pool, turning pale rose in about a week.
Oh, well, yuz pays yer munny, and yuz takes yer chances :)

I wonder if they have them at the Walmart close to my house in Toronto, the St. Clair West location.5t9 wrote:Hi everyone:

Possible. Take a peek, and keep us Toronto guys posted. I think they Walmart just throws them at wherever they think they will sell out quickly.
Re: Speedos, by George! at Walmart
I was there last night and no such luck. Just board shorts. They made shorter boardshorts, but for little boys.5t9 wrote:Possible. Take a peek, and keep us Toronto guys posted. I think they Walmart just throws them at wherever they think they will sell out quickly.
Re: Speedos, by George! at Walmart
I'll likely be hitting the Wasaga Beach Wallie this weekend, so I'll see if they've sold out, or (not bloody likely) have been restocked. Being as this is the "big long weekend" of mid-summer, the remaining square cuts might be scooped up by day-trippers wanting to test the waters. We'll see.
Re: Speedos, by George! at Walmart
Does anyone have pics of them in Walmart just for curiosity.
